Growers agreements for Food Hubs

Our Out of the Box weekly produce box scheme is working closely with our core growers and establishing a growers advisory group. We’re currently working on agreements with our growers. Just wondering if any other Food Hubs/hybrid CSAs have anything similar? Would love to hear your experiences and see your agreements…

I know that Beechworth have a growers’ agreement - @jademiles2 is that something you could post here?

@edigrocer have you done any work like this at all?

@ChrisE does CERES have one?

@SallyRuljancich are there growers agreements within the Prom Coast Food Collective system?

Hi Deborah.

When we first started the attached ‘Farm Character’ self assessment was all we needed. We did do some ‘letters of intent’ which was basically an agreement that we would roughly buy a certain amount of produce including the dates and the farmer signed it as well to indicate their end of the arrangement but that has become redundant. I can talk to you more when you come up for the New Economies gig next week.
Robert
PS
I’lll see if I can find the letter of intent template but it was over 10 years ago we last used it
I have a lot of experience working with farmers and core groups to cut through all the hoo haa and get a solid framework around the expectations to get things rolling with minimal fuss

Thanks Robert, sharing your experience is greatly appreciated! Rach and I
are hoping to talk with you when we’re up… we’re staying an extra day so
if we haven’t already caught up and you’re around (and willing!) it would
be great to spend a bit more time with you. We are all about cutting
through hoo haa :slight_smile:
