Institutionalised Food Poverty - lessons from the UK

An insightful article from Robbie Davison the Director of Can Cook, a food organisation working with people living in South Liverpool, UK. “…now onto what made us angry and onto what should make everyone angry if your aim is social justice for those who are blighted by the stress of hunger.”

Are Govts in Australia abdicating responsibilities, are ‘big food’ coys using food relief agencies as food waste rubbish bins?

Thanks for this Kay, this rings true for us and was solidified when we hosted Catherine Scharf from ‘The Stop’ a few years ago. The Food Rescue operations we see dominating the space need to be made more aware of the systemic problem they are reinforcing.

Beyond Food Banks is wehere we need to go and that is not an easy road to go down atm with the fetishisation of food waste / rescue operations.
