If you know any high school geography teachers, please let them know there’s a new Food Security and Biomes teaching resource pack which has just launched!
For the last year, within my role as a researcher on the Foodprint Melbourne project at the University of Melbourne, we’ve been working on Year 9 curriculum resources that draw on our research, and the result is a full unit plan and resource pack which includes lesson plans, engaging worksheets, videos, online GIS mapping activities, and more.
The information is based on University of Melbourne research, and uses local, credible info (with a particular Melbourne focus, thanks to our research area). It was developed as a collaboration between us and the Geography Teachers’ Association of Victoria, with funding from the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation.
I’m so excited that students undertaking this (nationally compulsory) subject will be learning about this stuff!! We’d definitely appreciate you alerting any geography teachers in your life to the fact that it exists
