Hi all, it’s been awesome to see so many useful conversations starting to happen here! Now that there’s some activity so that people can understand the purpose of the forum, and the types of conversations that can thrive here, we’re going to be launching the forum more broadly.
We will be launching the forum broadly next Wednesday, May 3. This will include social media from us and partners, and we will be doing a bulk upload of users who have expressed interest in joining, and a bulk invitation to our mailing list to join the forum.
Let’s all get this happening!
Turning this into the go to place for these conversations in Australia will need all of us to help drive these types of conversations here and invite people along to participate. Different organisations and people have committed to doing that in different ways - through promoting it on social media, bulk inviting their mailing list to join the forum, structuring the forum into their event plans for discussion following an event, and more! If you can do any of these things then that would be fantastic!
Hopefully you now have a sense of how searchable and easy to use the forum is, and have a sense of the potential for really useful discussions that will help improve the fair food system in Australia. For those who are less familiar with the whole background to the forum in terms of ethos and what it’s trying to accomplish you can check out this background document (Fair Food Forum general briefing.docx) but basically, it was developed to try and get conversations about fair food happening in one open, searchable place so that we can help support each other in building a fair food system, and help one another build on others’ experiences rather than reinventing the wheel each time someone starts a new food enterprise, or confronts a new issue in their enterprise.
As always, if there are extra categories you think should be added to help your community of practice have useful conversations then please suggest them.
